As a young new female artist entering the Tattoo Industry, my path is shorter than many of the great artists that have already made a name for their work. Though, I believe my passion for the art is just as great as those above me. I see tattooing as an opportunity to express art through the customer’s eyes. From my hand to their skin!
Not only is it a pleasure to be working for a well awarded shop, the Tattoo Factory, it is also a great experience to meet all the different people with their own stories behind their tattoo. I fell into love of tattoos when I was very young. I would stick temporary tattoos all over my body and draw whatever, wherever, on my body during class to kill time. I spent most of my days in the art department experimenting with multiple medias, stretching my imagination to the fullest. I wasn’t interested in becoming a tattoo artist until more people would ask me to sketch them a design for a tattoo that they wanted. When they came to show me my design on their body it occurred to me what it is that I wanted to do. So, I worked my butt off at Denny’s, saved up all my tips, and bought myself my own tattoo kit. Probably wasn’t the smartest direction, but once I get myself motivated to achieve a goal there is no stopping me and I will do whatever I think will get me there. I would snag any person willing to donate their skin to my needle.
I finally squeezed into a shop that opened in Libertyville, and was thankful enough to have received that experience. After a while, I made the decision to leave after peeking into the doors of Tattoo Factory in Chicago where many great artists have come. I continue to look forward to all that awaits me here, and hope to make the best of every waking second. I couldn’t be any more grateful to be where I am. |
